2025 Grenache Blanc
2025 Obelisco Grenache Blanc
AVA: Yakima Valley
Blend: 79% Grenache Blanc, 21% Viognier
Vineyards:
Case Production: 50 cases
Aging: 6 month stianless steel
Tasting Notes: This medium-to-full-bodied wine balances the vibrant citrus and mineral character of Grenache Blanc with the lush, aromatic qualities of Viognier. Ripe white peach and apricot are complemented by lime peel and a mineral edge, while lively, crisp acidity keeps the wine fresh and balanced.
Cellaring: This Rhone style white wine is bright and fresh, while still being generous and plush and meant to be enjoyed within the first 3 years. However, if you enjoy aged white wines, this wine has plenty of acidity and concentration to last in your cellar for up to 7 years.
Production: The Grenache Blanc was harvested on September 12th, followed by the Viognier on September 21st. Both varieties were fermented separately in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve freshness and aromatics. Fermentation lasted approximately three weeks for each wine before they were blended together prior to bottling.
Harvest: The 2025 growing season started off cool, but there was a nice heat spike in May. June remained mild and vineyards were on track with the 20-year average. There were a few stretches throughout the summer over 100oF, but generally, it was a mild growing season. Harvest began about 7-10 days later than normal, and natural acidity levels were higher than average. September and October continued to be pleasant allowing for slow and measured ripening. The 2025 wines show freshness and opulence and should be considered a classic vintage.
